My name is Khanya Masuku, a Digital Planning Executive. Growing up in Soweto, I was inspired to
become the best version of myself. I firmly believe in the power of marketing and that perseverance can
make anything possible. At heart, I am an entrepreneur, driven by the goal of solving challenges and
making a significant impact in the digital world.
I am passionate about creating and expanding new markets, building and enhancing brand presence, and
transforming awareness, consideration, and action into substantial growth. With my expertise in digital
marketing and entrepreneurial spirit, I strive to achieve these goals and make a meaningful difference.
What is your field of study?
My field of study is digital marketing. I hold industry-recognized certificates and badges, along with a
National Certificate in Advertising. My journey began in 2022 when I was selected from over 800
applicants to join the elite group of 50 cohort members at iHub Africa, where I was equipped with digital
marketing skills. This opportunity paved the way for my upskilling at The GradX Africa Academy in 2023,
where I covered Strategy, Planning, Search and Social, to AdOps, and mReporting. Ultimately leading to
my role at one of the world’s leading media buying group.
What do you hope to achieve through the IAB Front Row?
As someone who has navigated an unconventional path into the digital media industry, I am eager to gain
mentorship, exposure, and insights from established leaders in the field. The opportunity to engage with
peers, thought leaders, and C-suite executives will be invaluable in refining my skills and expanding my
professional network. I also hope to contribute my unique perspective and learn from the collective
experiences of other young professionals, ensuring I can grow both personally and professionally while
fostering innovation within the industry.
