A new opportunity in 2016 presented the chance to work within the tourism space, where she gained experience in account and project management for product and platform development, and on 360 campaigns, where she managed localisation, translation, and cross-platform implementation of creative content in more than 15 countries, in 9 languages. Nicole Capper is the MD and owner of MANGO-OMC (Pty) Ltd; a PR, communications and digital marketing agency based in Cape Town. Her background is in marketing and brand management; but from 2004 she started working more in the PR and communications space, after she found the disciplines suited her strengths.
Her marketing background was initially developed in the United Kingdom, at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, where she famously did not have a job description and was allowed to roam wild to develop their first electronic publishing products and liaise with associated bodies.
On her move back to South Africa, Nicole chose Cape Town and was the brand manager for Formule Naturelle until they were acquired by Aspen Pharmacare and the brand was handed over to the pharmaceutical giant. With a belief that Cape Town was her home, Nicole was reluctant to move back to Johannesburg and took on the role of Brand Manager for Bio-Oil South Africa.
In 2004, she made the decision to focus on PR and started her own consultancy, before moving into a partnership with MANGO-OMC. The agency reflects Nicole’s belief in the ability of communications to support a wide range of business goals, especially when there is a focus on strategy and measurement. Her strategic mind allows her to get to the heart of an issue quickly and succinctly; while her innate understanding of the media landscape has resulted in a strong network of long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Nicole has successfully conceptualised and forged multiple creative and successful third party joint marketing alliances for MANGO-OMC’s clients and continues to push the boundaries of PR and communication in the exciting landscape of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
