The Measurement Council is headed up by Clare Trafankowska, Head of Digital Marketing & Paid Media, FNB SA.
Previously Clare was Managing Director of iProspect and Vizeum, leading digital performance marketing and media agencies in South Africa, respectively. Prior to that, she headed up Digital across dentsuX and Carat JHB & CPT. She was responsible for driving an integrated strategic digital approach across the company as well as ensuring all teams were equipped to drive digital transformation within their client teams, whilst maintaining a high level of thought-leadership.
Clare is passionate about people, media and the development of the next generation of marketeers.
She is fascinated by the ever-evolving world of media and takes great pleasure in the constant challenges posed by the disruptive impact that tech regularly has on the world around us. Having stumbled into the industry by accident, the adventure first began with Cinema and events co-ordination; gradually morphing in media owner sales, across first cinema and then into the ‘dark-side’ of digital, with the then resellers of Yahoo, Apurimac Media.
With over a decade of experience within the industry Clare’s first foray into the media agency world, was in 2017 and has since developed an insatiable energy for this fast-paced, engaging and highly dynamic environment.
She has an innate sense for people and thrives on the energetic buzz experienced when presenting and pitching. With thought-leadership and educational development (of self and those around her) being vital motivators for her, Clare naturally develops and promotes mentorship opportunities wherever she goes. Clare was a part-time lecturer at AAA in 2018; having facilitated the Digital Marketing Strategy NQF 7 course and believes that active contribution in the development of our industry is the only way in which we’ll successfully grow together. With that in mind, Clare is not only a Mentor for the recently launched Female Foundry initiative but is also an #IamRemarkable facilitator (which is a is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond, encouraging them to push beyond glass ceilings).


Paula Hulley

Paula, Managing Director of Digitas Liquorice, part of the Publicis Africa Goupe, has 20 years of expertise in leading and creating innovative and experiential digital platforms, programmes, products and teams with the goal to uplift, develop and future-proof customers and businesses alike.
Previously CEO of the IAB (interactive Advertising Bureau) SA and before that, Head of Digital and Innovation for Ogilvy CT, Paula has worked with clients such as Multichoice, Puma, Virgin Active, Audi, Vodacom, FNB, Samsung and Allan Gray.
Paula adds value to any business in her ability to rapidly understand the current business (commercial and creative) context and future potential.

Rene is the Head of Ad Operations at Juno Media, a brand of The United Growth Group. She is actively involved in ensuring clients are extracting value and opportunity through data and insights.
Rene has 14 years of Media experience. Her sound understanding of the overall business model and needs, as well extensive knowledge of the tech offering and her ability to meet and exceed client needs and objectives are what set her apart.
Having onboarded clients in various sectors has allowed Rene to develop a data-driven marketing approach as well as a methodical understanding of where and how investments work and how to identify investment risks.
Her track record in successfully aiding clients in future-proofing tech requirements around their campaigns has given her the confidence to be future focused in her approach. She thrives on collaborating around topics relating to measurement, the standardising of measurement and the continuous development of the technology and capabilities.
In addition to this, she oversees the delivery of Viewability and Brand Safety and the detection of Brand Fraud by ensuring there is swift integration of the correct ad verification tools across platforms. This experience perfectly fits Rene as Project Lead on the IAB SA Ad Fraud White Paper.
Rene is a foodie and bakes the best chocolate eclairs. She is a total sports fanatic; her blood is green and gold however red does flow through it when it comes to her favourite football team……Liverpool.
