Bookmarks Season VII launches
The Bookmarks Awards is an IAB SA initiative, celebrating its 7th year in 2014/15. This is the local Digital Industry’s highest calibre awards aimed at identifying and rewarding excellence in digital creative work and execution, benchmarked against international standards and measurable results as judged by our host of local and international judges. This year the Bookmarks forms part of the 1st annual IAB Digital Summit.
Be Inspired, Celebrate!
Since launch seven years ago, the Awards have evolved along with the industry. What hasn’t changed is the commitment to honouring the individuals and companies that add measurable value to the digital space – be it innovative thinking, commercial success, awesome design or implementation, or contribution to the bigger picture.

The Fundamentals – a quick reminder
– Focus on ‘measurable value’: winning a Pixel is not easy. In fact, just making the shortlist is an achievement. No matter how creative or clever, the ultimate test is; how the work delivered against the stated objectives.
– Moving the dates: This year we have moved the Bookmarks Awards to a less busy time of the year – February, which moves the entry period to beginning of October and closing on the 21st of November.
– The importance of crafted entries: how you present your work is as important as the work itself. Bearing in mind that the judges might not have context or insight into environments you’re familiar with. All they have is your entry. What they don’t have is time – to delve deeper, to join the dots, or analyse why your work is worthy. Match your motivation to the various criteria, and make it easy for them to appreciate what has been achieved. More advice on ‘priming’ your entries in the Rules of the Game section.
